CERT was developed in Los Angeles in 1985 by the Los Angeles County Fire Department following a major earthquake. They had ample volunteers to help following the disaster, and realized that the community would be better served if those volunteers and the community received preparedness training. Our CERT program is made up strictly of volunteers who choose to serve their community when disaster strikes. CERT members come from all walks of life, retirees, students, professionals, they all come together to help their neighbors when the need arises. All CERT members receive training in disaster relief, CPR/First Aid, Search & Rescue, and more! Interested in joining CERT and serving your community? Give us a call at 573-346-7108 or come to one of our CERT meetings held the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at 12 VFW Rd Camdenton, MO 65020.
